There's nothing like a rematch, and Gabriella Gomez and Valarie Solorio certainly have history. The two met in the best-of-three finals at the 2022 U17 Nationals in Forth Worth, Texas, on May 8 and in the 2021 16U National finals in Fargo on July 18. Solorio won the 16U title with a 6-3 win over Gomez with Gomez returning the favor by making the U17 World team in straight matches over Solorio: 8-3 and 4-1. Gomez went on to win the 46-kg silver medal at the U17 World Championships in July.The two will face off at 100 pounds during FloWrestling's Who's Number One on September 9 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
